An Anti-Drug Awareness Programme was conducted in the College Auditorium on 11 August 2026 at 10:30 a.m. as part of the college’s initiatives to sensitise students to the harmful effects of drug abuse and to promote a healthy, responsible, and drug-free lifestyle. The programme commenced with a welcome address by Dr. Deepa K, Coordinator of the Anti-Narcotic Cell of the College, who welcomed the dignitaries, faculty members, and students to the programme. Prof. Muhammed Basheer Ummathur, Principal of the College, delivered the presidential address, highlighting the importance of creating awareness among students about the serious consequences of drug abuse and the collective responsibility of the campus community in preventing substance abuse. The major highlight of the programme was a one-man play performed by Mr. Ashraf Munna. Through his powerful and thought-provoking performance, he effectively portrayed the dangers and consequences of drug abuse and conveyed a strong message on the importance of staying away from addictive substances. The performance was highly informative, engaging, and impactful, leaving a lasting impression on the students.
Following the play, Deepashikha – the flame of awareness and hope – was ceremonially lit by the Principal, symbolising the collective commitment towards spreading awareness and promoting a drug-free society.
The programme was followed by an Anti-Drug Pledge, during which the students and staff collectively pledged to abstain from drugs and to contribute actively towards building a drug-free campus and society. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by the student representative, Absina Lincy K P, who expressed gratitude to the Principal, the Anti-Narcotic Cell, the performer, faculty members, and students for their valuable contributions and participation.
