The Flower Carpet Competition, organized under the Electoral Literacy Club at Unity Women's College in Manjeri, was successfully held on August 24, 2023. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from ten different departments of the college. The competition aimed not only to celebrate the beauty of floral arrangements but also to raise awareness about the importance of electoral literacy among the students.

The event took place in the class rooms of each department, which was transformed into a vibrant and colourful arena of creativity. Each department was assigned a designated area to showcase their artistic skills through intricate flower carpets. The participants utilized a variety of colourful flowers and petals to create stunning designs and patterns on the ground, turning the courtyard into a visual spectacle. The competition not only promoted artistic expression but also emphasized the significance of electoral literacy. Throughout the event, students and participants engaged in conversations about the importance of informed voting and active participation in the democratic process. This blending of creativity and civic awareness added a unique dimension to the competition.

The judging panel consisted of faculty members from various disciplines invited to evaluate the flower carpets based on creativity, design complexity, use of colours, and alignment with the electoral literacy theme. The panel had a challenging task, given the exceptional efforts put forth by each department. The event concluded with a prize distribution ceremony, where the top three departments with the most impressive flower carpets were recognized and awarded.

The Flower Carpet Competition not only showcased the artistic talents of the students but also highlighted their commitment to social awareness and community engagement. By combining artistry with electoral literacy, the event succeeded in conveying an important message to the college community and beyond.
