TALK ON ‘CYBER SECURITY’

Under the auspices of the KSWDC Women Cell, KAHM Unity Women's College, Manjeri, a talk was arranged on Cyber Security for the first-year undergraduate students on 25 July 2025. The session was held in the college auditorium from 1.30 p.m. to 3.45 p.m. and was designed to make students aware of the ever-growing threats emerging out of the digital world and how to protect themselves online. The resource person was Mr. Anees Chacko, Assistant Sub-Inspector of Police, Karuvarakund Police Station. He shared some inciting thoughts on cybercrimes, social media threats, online scams, and prevention. He also illustrated relevant cases, thus giving a perspective of how one could report these cyber offenses. 
Ms. Suhada KM, Women Cell Coordinator and Assistant Professor, Department of Chemistry of the College, started the session by welcoming everyone. In her speech, she stressed the essence of cyber safety, which must be of utmost concern to young software-aware students. The programme came to a close with a vote of thanks by Nooriya, 3rd Sem B.Sc. Chemistry conveying heartfelt appreciation to the resource person, organizers, and participants for their invaluable contribution to making the event a success.
Ms. Shaba V, a 3rd Semester B.Sc. Chemistry student, efficiently managed the overall event coordination through the Women Cell. The session was extremely interactive and informative, providing the students with practically usable knowledge to negotiate the digital space responsibly.
