KSWDC WOMEN CELL AND KERALA KOUMUDY Women Unbound: Reclaim Public Spaces, reclaim lives -A Seminar on Women Safety
The KSWDC Women Cell of KAHM Unity Women’s College, Manjeri, in collaboration with Kerala Kaumudi, organized a seminar on Women’s Safety and Empowerment titled "Women Unbound: Reclaim Public Spaces, Reclaim Lives" on 6th August 2025 at 1:40 PM in the CH Auditorium. The programme began with a prayer, followed by a warm welcome address delivered by Sumod Karakkattuthodi, Unit Chief of Kerala Kaumudi. The session was presided over by Dr. Muhammed Basheer Ummathur, Principal of KAHM Unity Women’s College, and was inaugurated by U. A. Latheef, MLA of Manjeri.
As part of the event, Anu Maleekha, Managing Director of Maleekha Family Beauty Salon, Manjeri, was honoured for her notable achievements. Greetings were conveyed by Dr. Shahina Mol AK, IQAC Co-ordinator, and Dr. Usman A., President of the Staff Club.The keynote sessions were handled by two eminent speakers: Ramadevi Kollaikal, Skill Trainer and Senior Associate at Simhar, and Sameera Shibu, Psychologist and Mental Health Coach, who was also the special guest of the programme. The seminar concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Ms. Suhada KM, Women Cell Co-ordinator.Focusing on the theme of women’s empowerment, the seminar highlighted the urgent need to reclaim public spaces and ensure safety for women. The event concluded with the inspiring message: "Her voice is her power – let’s make the world safe enough for her to use it."
