The "Know Your Rights" legal awareness seminar, organized by the KSWDC Women Cell on 24 November 2025, was a comprehensive initiative to empower women students with knowledge of their constitutional rights, legal protections, and access to justice mechanisms. Inaugurated by K. Sanil Kumar, District and Sessions Judge and Honourable Chairman of the District Legal Services Authority, Malappuram, the programme featured Adv. Nazia, Chief Legal Aid Defence Counsel, as keynote speaker. Coordinated by Ms. Suhada K.M. and student coordinator Nooriya Rahma I.T., the seminar combined formal presentations on women's rights, family law, property protections, and employment safeguards with interactive dialogue between legal professionals and student participants. The collaboration between KAHM Unity Women's College, DLSA, and TLSC, Eranad, demonstrated institutional commitment to legal literacy and women's empowerment, directly connecting students with accessible legal aid services and judicial authority representatives.
The programme successfully created awareness among women students regarding their fundamental rights, legal remedies available under domestic violence protection acts, inheritance and property laws, and mechanisms for seeking legal assistance through the state legal aid system. Felicitations were extended by institutional leadership, including Er. O. Abdul Ali (Manager) and Hana Fathima (Women Cell President), recognizing the significance of legal education for women's empowerment. Through this initiative, the institution reinforced its commitment to holistic student development and social responsibility, demonstrating how educational institutions can serve as bridges connecting students with formal justice systems and empowering women with knowledge to protect their rights and navigate legal processes confidently.
