'RAIN IN UNITY' – REEL MAKING COMPETITION

The Photography Club of KAHM Unity Women's College (Autonomous), Manjeri, organized the 'Rain in Unity' Reel Making Competition from 1st July to 7th July 2026. The competition aimed to provide students with a platform to showcase their creativity by capturing the beauty of the college campus during the monsoon season while enhancing their videography, storytelling, and video editing skills. A total of 14 students participated in the competition. The submitted reels showcased remarkable creativity, innovative camera angles, creative editing, and engaging visual storytelling, reflecting the participants' talent and their unique perspectives in capturing the beauty of the college campus during the rainy season.
Ms. Haneena. K (IV Sem MSc Botany) bagged the First Prize, while Ms. Meenakshi. PC(III Sem BA English) and Ms. Hana. C (V Sem BSc FCS) secured the Second and Third Prizes, respectively.
The prizes were distributed by Prof. (Dr.) Muhammed Basheer Ummathur, Principal, who congratulated the winners and appreciated the creativity and efforts of all the participants. He encouraged the students to continue nurturing their talents in photography and videography. Lt. Loosiya. KP, Assistant Professor (Adhoc) and Photography Club Coordinator, and Ms. Bushaira. V, Assistant Professor and Photography Club Joint Coordinator, PG Department of Home Science, served as the judges for the competition.
The competition was coordinated by Lt. Loosiya. KP, Assistant Professor (Adhoc), PG Department of Home Science and Photography Club Coordinator, with Ms. Nasla. M, III Sem BSc FCS and Photography Club President, serving as the Student Coordinator. The competition successfully fostered creativity and strengthened students' skills in mobile filmmaking and video editing.
