Talk on “Overview of the Indian Constitution”

As part of the Indian Constitution Day observation, the NCC Army Wing of KAHM Unity Women’s College, Manjeri, under 9 (K) Girls Battalion NCC, Calicut, conducted an online talk on “Overview of the Indian Constitution” on 28th November 2025 at 8:00 pm through Google Meet. The aim of the programme was to enhance constitutional awareness among cadets and to help them understand the core values, structure, and significance of the Indian Constitution. The objective was to provide a clear understanding of the Constitution’s evolution, sources, features, and citizens’ rights and duties. The session was welcomed by Lt. Loosiya KP, Associate NCC Officer, who highlighted the importance of observing Constitution Day. The resource person, Ms. Shahabas Banu CK, Ex-NCC Cadet and Alumna of BA History (2018–21 Batch), delivered a detailed presentation on the evolution of the Indian Constitution, the Constituent Assembly and its drafting process, various sources of the Constitution, the Preamble, special features, fundamental rights, lapse of paramountcy, and the federal and unitary characteristics of the Indian Union. She also shared her journey and experiences as an NCC Cadet. After the talk, participants interacted actively and clarified their doubts. The programme was well coordinated by Student Coordinator UO Rushda P, 6th Sem BSc Mathematics. The session concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by L/CPL Sreeneha M, 4th Sem BSc Mathematics and a total of 90 cadets participated. The outcome of the programme was enhanced understanding of constitutional concepts, increased awareness of rights and duties, and strengthened commitment to constitutional values.
