As part of the ‘Udaan’- NCC Day celebrations, the NCC Army Wing of KAHM Unity Women’s College, Manjeri, visited Salva Care Home for Senior Citizens in Moorippadam, Pandikkad, on 21st November 2025. The visit aimed to bring smiles and companionship to the residents while fostering community service, empathy, and understanding among the cadets. During the programme, the welfare officers introduced the cadets to the care home’s vision, mission and history. Lt. Loosiya KP, Associate NCC Officer, extended a warm welcome to the inmates. The cadets performed songs, dances, storytelling, and games, actively engaging with the residents and adding joy to the occasion. The inmates also participated enthusiastically by singing songs, sharing stories, and joining in the games, making the interaction even more lively and meaningful. The cadets sponsored evening tea and snacks and visited bedridden patients, offering them comfort and care. The event was coordinated by senior cadets, UO Rushda P (6th Sem BSc Mathematics) and UO Shahana MP, 6th Sem BSc FCS. Overall, the visit was a heartwarming experience that strengthened the cadets’ sense of social responsibility and community involvement.
