Theme: “Yoga for Healthy Ageing”
As part of the observance of the International Day of Yoga, the NCC Army Wing of KAHM Unity Women’s College (Autonomous), Manjeri, under 9 (K) Girls Battalion NCC, Calicut, organized a yoga session on 21 June 2026 at 7:30 am in the CH Auditorium. The programme aimed to promote physical fitness, mental well-being, and healthy lifestyle practices among NCC cadets while emphasizing the importance of yoga in supporting healthy ageing.
The session was led by Mr. Hamraz Ahamed. M, Assistant Professor and Head of the Department of Physical Education, who demonstrated various yoga postures and breathing exercises. He explained the significance and health benefits of each practice, highlighting how regular yoga improves flexibility, strength, balance, concentration, and stress management, thereby contributing to overall well-being and healthy ageing. A total of 65 NCC cadets actively participated in the programme. The session was coordinated by Lt. Loosiya KP (Associate NCC Officer) and L/CPL Rishva K (5th Semester BA History).
The programme successfully enhanced awareness among cadets about the importance of yoga in maintaining physical and mental health and encouraged them to adopt yoga as a regular practice for leading a healthy and balanced life
