80th Independence Day Celebration

The NCC Army Wing of KAHM Unity Women’s College (Autonomous), Manjeri, under 9 (K) Girls Battalion NCC, Calicut, celebrated the 80th Independence Day on 15 August 2026. The programme aimed to instil patriotism, promote national unity, and inspire cadets to understand their responsibilities towards the nation.
Lt. Loosiya. KP, Associate NCC Officer, welcomed the gathering and highlighted the significance of Independence Day, with reference to the Har Ghar Tiranga campaign and the commemoration of 150 years of Vande Mataram.
Prof. (Dr.) Muhammed Basheer Ummathur, Principal, hoisted the National Flag and delivered the Independence Day message. He emphasised the theme of the year, “Yuva Shakti for Viksit Bharat,” highlighting the vital role of youth in the development of the country and the importance of patriotism and responsible citizenship. Following the flag hoisting, all the participants stood in attention and saluted the National Flag, paying respect to the nation.
CPL Asna Rejiya. AM, V Sem BA History, Student Coordinator, delivered the vote of thanks. The programme concluded with the NCC Song and the National Anthem. A total of 55 NCC cadets, security staff, and bus staff participated in the programme. The celebration strengthened the participants’ sense of patriotism, national unity, and commitment to contributing positively to the development of the nation.
