‘Tiranga Fusion’ – National Integration Dance
As part of the 80th Independence Day Celebration, the NCC Army Wing of KAHM Unity Women’s College (Autonomous), Manjeri, under 9 (K) Girls Battalion NCC, Calicut, and the EBSB Club jointly organised “Tiranga Fusion – National Integration Dance” on 14 August 2026 at the CH Auditorium from 2:50 pm to 3:45 pm. The programme aimed to promote national integration, unity, patriotism, and appreciation of India’s rich cultural diversity through cultural performances and presentations. It also provided an opportunity for students to showcase the diverse cultural traditions and heritage of different regions of India while developing creativity, teamwork, confidence, and respect for cultural diversity.
The cadets presented a vibrant cultural fusion featuring dance performances and still/tableau presentations representing the diverse cultural heritage, traditions, and personalities of various regions across India, including Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Madhya Pradesh, Punjab, West Bengal, the North-Eastern States, and Jammu & Kashmir. The presentations highlighted the uniqueness of each region while conveying the message of “Unity in Diversity.” A patriotic dance was also performed, adding to the spirit of the Independence Day celebration.
A total of 73 students participated in the cultural fest. The programme was witnessed by the Principal, Manager, teaching and non-teaching staff, and students of the college, who enthusiastically supported and appreciated the performances. The programme was coordinated by Lt. Loosiya. KP, Associate NCC Officer and Assistant Professor (Adhoc), PG Dept. of Home Science; Ms. Bushaira V, EBSB Club Coordinator and Assistant Professor, PG Dept. of Home Science; LCPL Fathima Shaba V, V Semester BSc Chemistry; and Ms. Shahla Sherin I, V Semester BSc FCS.
The programme concluded with the NCC Song, followed by the National Anthem, bringing the celebration to a meaningful close with a strong sense of patriotism and national unity. The programme enhanced students’ awareness and appreciation of India’s diverse cultural heritage and strengthened the values of national integration, unity, and patriotism. It also promoted teamwork, creativity, confidence, and coordination among the participants while reinforcing the spirit of “Unity in Diversity” among the college community.
