DENTAL HEALTH CARE CAMP AND DENTAL EXHIBITION
A Dental Health Care Camp and Dental Exhibition was successfully organized on 29 June 2026 at the College Auditorium by the National Service Scheme (NSS) Units 008 & 171 of K.A.H.M. Unity Women's College, Manjeri, in collaboration with MES Dental College, Perinthalmanna. The programme aimed to promote awareness about oral health, encourage preventive dental care, and provide students with valuable knowledge on maintaining good dental hygiene.
The programme commenced with a welcome address by Dr. Haris U., NSS Programme Officer, who also delivered the presidential address, emphasizing the importance of maintaining good oral hygiene for overall health and well-being. The programme was formally inaugurated by Prof. (Dr.) Basheer Ummathur, Principal, who highlighted the significance of organizing health awareness initiatives to foster healthy lifestyles among students.
An informative Medical Issues Awareness Class was conducted by Mr. Fasil V. Hassan, who explained common health issues and their preventive measures. This was followed by a Dental Care Awareness Class handled by Dr. Amnath V. and Dr. Fathima Nidha C., who discussed proper oral hygiene practices, common dental diseases, methods of prevention, and the importance of regular dental check-ups. An engaging Dental Exhibition was coordinated by Dr. Shafna Sebin P. N., featuring dental models, instruments, and informative charts that provided participants with practical insights into oral health and dental care.
As part of the programme, a free dental health check-up camp was conducted for students, teaching faculty, and non-teaching staff, enabling them to receive professional dental examinations and personalized oral health advice. More than 200 participants, including students, teaching faculty, and non-teaching staff, actively took part in the awareness sessions, exhibition, and dental screening, making the programme highly informative and beneficial. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Dr. Faseela P., NSS Programme Officer, who expressed sincere gratitude to the resource persons, the management and staff of MES Dental College, the college administration, volunteers, and all participants for their wholehearted support. The Dental Health Care Camp and Dental Exhibition successfully achieved its objective of creating awareness about oral health and motivating the college community to adopt healthy dental care practices.
